Original Fiction Drabbles - Week Twelve

Through the Looking Glass – October 12th, 2012 [Cillian Catherwood/Tomoki Yonemura]

They’d met by accident, but Cillian had to think later that maybe it had been serendipity.

Agreeing to take on the job of photographing TRACTION YEN’s upcoming tour, he’d thought nothing of where it might lead, but enjoyed the challenge of taking pictures of people rather than landscapes for once.

It wasn’t until he was in the audience one night, taking shots of the band and the crowd, that he realized his true feelings for Yone.

Watching the other man sing through the lens of his camera, watching the passion and energy he gave to each performance… it was hypnotic.


Hypnotized – October 13th, 2012 [Eddie Valentine/Hinata Hanazaki]

He knew it should hurt. The man (boy?) was biting him, sharp teeth sunk deep into the flesh of his forearm, but he was stunned, too much in shock to really feel pain just yet.

Dark eyes wide, he stared in rapt attention as the man seemed to sample his blood, his own eyes closed and lashes fluttering against pale cheeks as he suckled softly.

“Ano… um… excuse me…”

It was stupid to be polite, but Hana couldn’t help it as he gently nudged the man off his arm, sliding a finger between his lips and forcing him to unlatch.


Two Plus One – October 14th, 2012 [Kale Mohren/Phoenix Mohren/Tomoki Yonemura]

Yone is a little bit jealous of the way he sees Kale and Fee look at each other.

It’s love. Real love, that he sees in their eyes, even if they don’t know he sees the looks they give each other. He knows they think he’d probably judge them, but he doesn’t.

He can’t judge them for loving each other. He can’t imagine why anyone would judge someone for loving someone else.

He wishes though, as he says goodbye on that last morning that he could find someone who meant as much to him as they do to each other.


Pint-sized Predator – October 15th, 2012 [Carter Valentine, Alliance Jinks]

He reminds him of Eddie. That’s what Carter thinks when he rescues Allie.

Allie’s been alone a long time, and he’s nearly feral when Carter comes across him, baring small but dangerously sharp fangs at him.

It takes a while, but Carter gains his trust and brings him home to clean him up, even if Eddie’s not at all happy about what he feels is competition.

Eddie can’t stay grumpy for long though, when Allie follows him around like a kitten following its brother, looking up at him with big green eyes that show innocence despite all he’s been through.


Unintended Carry-On – October 16th, 2012 [Nozomu Ito {kitsune}/Shayden Hashimoto]

His carry-on bag wasn’t fitting in the overhead, which made no sense. All that was in there were some clothes and a few trinkets that he hadn’t wanted to leave in his suitcase. Maybe a book or two, but he couldn’t remember.

Pulling the bag down and stepping out of the aisle to hunch awkwardly and let people pass, Shay unzipped the bag and rummaged blindly around inside.

He nearly yelped when his fingers brushed against something warm and soft, but managed to keep it inside, even as he wondered fearfully if a rat had somehow gotten into his bag.


Guardian Angel – October 17th, 2012 [Alex MacKinzey, Christopher Larkin]

He was an idiot, but somehow Alex couldn’t seem to stop checking in on him.

The boy was sixteen—seventeen now, whatever—and he was twenty-seven. He had no right to be even thinking about him, let alone following him around like some sort of demented hitman version of that stupid sparkly vampire from those brainless teen novels.

Still, he kept doing it. He kept stepping in and scaring Chris’ bullies shitless, giving Chris himself advice – that he’d probably heard from every adult ever – and then flitting away into the night like Batman (only without the weird rubber suit fetish).


A Forever Kind of One Night Stand – October 18th, 2012 [Carter Valentine/Jacob Knight]

It’s not something they talk about – what they are to each other. Neither of them mentions exclusivity; they’re not boyfriends, just lovers. All the same, it never occurs to either of them to want someone else.

Jake often shows up at the other man’s hotel room after a show, freshly showered and smiling as if he hadn’t just spent three hours running around like a crackhead (that sings), and it doesn’t matter that it’s late, and that Carter had been thinking about going to bed.

It doesn’t matter at all, because the sight of Jake makes him forget his exhaustion.
