Protect and Serve – August 17th, 2012 [Kenji Okuda, Keiichiro Sasaki]

Kei wasn’t like any student he’d had before, and that was both good and bad.

While he was athletic and naturally talented, he seemed far too naïve and kind to take up martial arts.

Still, Okuda was a little bit glad when he saw how quickly Kei improved. He was like a child in a man’s body, and it was easy to imagine someone trying to take advantage of the kind hearted and innocent teen when there wasn’t anyone else around to protect him.

He could only hope that the lessons Kei learned here would serve to protect him elsewhere.


A Special Kind of Friend – August 18th, 2012 [Alliance Jinks, Eddie-kitty]

“One day… we’re going to have a house like that,” Allie whispered softly to the tiny kitten in his arms as he left his latest john’s house. “And it’s going to be all ours, not some creepy old guy’s.”

He wasn’t under the illusion that the scrawny black cat could understand what he was saying, but it made Allie feel better to have someone to talk to, to tell his fears and his dreams to; someone who wasn’t going to laugh at him when he dreamed about having a big house all to himself.

“One day… we’ll have a home…”


Incognito – August 19th, 2012 [Tomoki Yonemura, Cillian Catherwood]

“And I’ll take three of the éclairs, one of the apple tarts… hmm… four of the chocolate croissants, and that should about do it!”

Smiling at the pretty blue-eyed bakery assistant from behind big dark sunglasses, Yone did his best not to squirm when he could hear the soft whispers from the teenage girls behind him.

It was hard to be totally incognito when he went out – especially if he had to talk, since he couldn’t exactly hide his voice – but he did what he could, especially if it meant coming to this bakery.

And not just for the cakes.


Falling For the First Time – August 20th, 2012 [Makoto Nanami/Yukio Katsukawa]

Makoto had never questioned his sexuality since he was fifteen and confused for the first time.

At least, he hadn’t ever questioned it before Yu walked into the classroom, legs up to the ceiling and long dark hair. Then Makoto felt his heart do something so stupid as skip a beat – which was clichéd and ridiculous.

He managed not to stare as the other teen slipped into a seat near him, but it was like he could feel Yu so close, and he couldn’t keep his body from reacting, which made him feel both confused and ashamed all at once.


Restraint – August 21st, 2012 [Jacob Knight, Kenji Okuda, Makoto Nanami]

Okuda’s a Judo sensei, which means his inner calm is usually better than most peoples’, but when his soon-to-be adopted foster son brings home a petite boy who looks like someone’s beaten him within an inch of his life, he wants for the first time in a long time to do serious violence.

When he finds out that Jake’s parents are responsible for the bruises that mar his skin, the urge doubles, and he has to excuse himself from Makoto’s bedroom where Jake sleeps.

He knows bad people exist, but he wishes he didn’t have to see so much proof.


Scary Movie – August 22nd, 2012 [Christopher Larkin, Keiichiro Sasaki]

“I can’t look!”

Biting his bottom lip in an attempt not to laugh, Chris can’t help the tiny giggle that escapes him at his friend’s melodramatic wail, not sure what to say in order to get Kei to stop hiding.

“It’s fine, it’s not scary, Kei!”

“It isss… tell me when it’s over.”

Rolling his eyes just a little bit in amusement, Chris dutifully returned his attention to the movie screen and watched the film, letting Kei know as soon as he could unhide himself, though he couldn’t quite keep his laughter out of his voice.

“There, see, Nemo’s fine!”


Welcome Home – August 23rd, 2012 [Natsumi Nishikido, Nanao Nishikido, Ryo-kitty]

“It’s okay sweetie,” Natsumi said softly, cooing at the tiny kitten as it shivered in the bottom of the box they’d found it in.

“I can’t believe someone would leave a kitten in a box.”

Silently agreeing with her sister, Natsumi finally coaxed the kitten out of the corner of the soggy box and lifted it, cuddling it against her chest and petting it with one finger.

“Think Mum’ll let us keep him?”

“Of course! We just won’t tell her about him until it’s too late for her to say no.”

Natsumi grinned, the expression more than a little wicked.
