Late this week due to completely passing out last night. XD
Two Hearts, One Soul – September 7th, 2012 [Kale Mohren/Fee Mohren]
It’s wrong – or so they’ve been told. You don’t love each other. Not like that. You can’t.
They’re words that they’ve heard from friends, from strangers. From people who matter, and people who don’t.
It’s wrong. You’re not trying hard enough.
If they had a pence for every time someone told them they were crazy, that they just needed to try harder to love other people, Kale was sure that they’d be rich men by now.
“I love you… and it’s not wrong,” Kale said softly, touching his brother’s cheek with gentle fingertips. “A love this strong can’t be wrong.”
Universal Language – September 8th, 2012 [Makoto Nanami/Fee Mohren]
A soft touch to Makoto’s arm had him turning in surprise, blinking at the steaming cup of coffee being held out to him by the handsome Dane.
“Ah… I um…”
Fumbling for something to say, Makoto felt his cheeks turn a little red in embarrassment.
The man’s soft laugh upped that feeling, even as he reached out to wrap his hand around the warm cup to hold it.
“No fee. Free for you. Is cold out, yes?”
The man’s soft and accented voice made something low in Makoto’s belly clench, and suddenly he was no longer blushing because of embarrassment.
Best Served Cold – September 9th, 2012 [Makoto Nanami, Masami Katsukawa]
The fear was the best part, Makoto thought, staring into eyes that had looked at him derisively only an hour before.
Now those eyes were wide with terror, and it made him feel better about what he was doing. Not generally sadistic, he often didn’t prolong torture, but there were times when it was the only appropriate action.
Freeing Yu from his mother’s bonds – the invisible and insidious kind – was worth it.
“You deserve this,” he said, voice cool as he trailed the tip of the knife down her cheek, splitting the skin. “It’s been twenty years in the making.”
Not Alone in the Dark – September 10th, 2012 [Aki/Cillian Catherwood]
He’s had lovers before, who’d said that his… disabilities… wouldn’t change their feelings, but eventually the silence became too much, and they’d make excuses even as they were out the door.
Now, lying in Aki’s arms, the room dark and silent around him, he feels both blind and deaf. Floating in a well of nothingness when he’s this tired, he starts to imagine that maybe he’s ceased to exist.
A soft rhythmic tap on his arm has him releasing a soft breath and smiling into the darkness. I love you in Morse code, reminding him that he was still here.
Put a Ring On It - September 11th, 2012 [Makoto Nanami, Bernard Smith]
“You could just ask him you know…”
It’s impossible for Makoto to be actually annoyed with his doorman, when he’s the one who brought this subject up. His lips still thin as he frowns though, because that’s the obvious thing to do, while also being the potentially messiest.
“What if he’s never even thought about it, and asking him just makes things awkward, because he doesn’t want it?”
“You’ll never know until he ask him, and you can be subtle about it. It’s not like you have to come right out and say ‘so did you want to get hitched?’.”
Unexpected Bonus – September 12th, 2012 [Carter Valentine/Trevelyn Jones]
“My mother’s going to kill me. My mother’s going to kill you.”
“How is this my fault?!”
“You got me pregnant!”
“You’re a man Trev, I didn’t think it was a concern!”
Pouting at his soon-to-be husband, Trev didn’t have much of a comeback for that when it was the truth. The problem was, he still didn’t know how to tell his parents that he was pregnant, and that his due date wasn’t for two months until after the wedding, which would put him at ‘very large’ for the (no pun intended) Big Day.
“My mother’s going to kill us…”
I Fought the Law – September 13th, 2012 [Alliance Jinks, Makoto Nanami]
Knowing everything that went on during his games meant that Makoto hadn’t missed the petite boy who (somehow) had snuck into the club, and was very skillfully lifting the wallets from over half of the drunken men gambling there that night.
Torn between being amused and impressed, Makoto signaled to Ford, getting him to stop the boy as he left the club.
As much as hardened gamblers getting ripped off by a kid entertained him, he did have a business presence to keep up, and allowing his customers to be stolen from (by anyone other than him) was bad business.
